Scheduling a Playlist
Nimbus808 lets you schedule collections by day, month, and time within a playlist. Use collections to group designs by schedule, such as morning announcements and afternoon updates.
This guide explains how to add designs, configure a collection’s schedule, and select the playlist for a display.
Understanding Playlists and Collections
A playlist contains collections. Each collection groups designs and has its own scheduling and playback settings. Use separate collections when different design groups need different schedules.
Schedule times use the display’s local time. For example, an 8:00 AM start follows the local time of the display playing the playlist.
1. Create or Open a Playlist
Select Playlists from the dashboard sidebar.
Click Add Playlist to create a playlist, or open an existing playlist.

Enter a playlist name and an optional description.
A new playlist starts with Collection 1.

2. Add Designs to a Collection
Open the collection’s design editor using its pencil icon. New playlists open this panel automatically.

Drag a design into the area labeled Drag design here to add to collection.
Add the other designs you want in that collection.
Click Save in the collection editor.

Use Add Collection to create another group of designs for a different schedule.
3. Select Days and Months
Click the collection’s calendar icon, labeled Schedule.

Under Day of the week, select the days when the collection should play.
Under Month, select the months when the collection should play.
Selected day and month buttons have a blue outline. Click a button to toggle its selection.
For weekday content throughout the year, leave Monday through Friday selected and select all twelve months.

4. Set Start and End Times
Under Start Time, choose the hour, minute, and AM/PM.
Under End Time, choose the hour, minute, and AM or PM.
Review both times before saving.
For example, set Start Time to 08:00 AM and End Time to 05:00 PM for a daytime schedule.

These times define the collection’s playback window. Individual design durations use the separate timing controls.
5. Configure Playback Settings
Choose a playback mode under Mode:
Loop: Play the designs repeatedly in sequence.
Random: Play the designs in a random order.

The Schedule window also includes controls for applying settings across the collection:
Set all timings to: Enter a duration and choose Seconds, Minutes, or Hours. Click Apply.
Set all transitions to: Choose None, Fade, Cross Zoom, Wipe Left, Wipe Right, or Iris. Click Apply.
Set all transition times to: Enter the transition duration in milliseconds (ms). Click Apply.

Design timing controls how long each design appears. Transition time controls how long the visual change between designs takes.
6. Save the Schedule and Playlist
Click Save at the bottom of the Schedule window.

Repeat these steps for any other collections.
Click Save at the top of the playlist editor.

Review each collection’s days, months, and times before assigning the playlist to a display.
7. Select the Playlist for a Display
Select Displays from the dashboard sidebar.

Open the player’s Configure page.
Find the display you want to update and click Select Content.

Expand PLAYLISTS and select your saved playlist.

Check the playback on the connected display at a scheduled time.
Before You Finish
Remember that every display follows its own local time. Verify playback on the actual display before relying on the schedule.
