How to Set Up Nimbus 808 with the Native PC App
Turn your digital signage PC into a Nimbus808 media player with the native PC client. This tutorial walks you through installing the software, pairing your PC with your Nimbus808 account, and publishing your designs or playlists to a connected display. You’ll also learn how to enable kiosk mode and access the player’s configuration settings.
Before You Begin
To follow along with this guide, you’ll need:
- A digital signage PC to serve as a media player, something like Maple Systems’ Digital Signage PCs
- A monitor or TV to serve as a display for the PC
- A Nimbus808 account
- At least one Design to display
Tutorial
Step 1: Set Up Your Media Player

First, we’ll install the client software onto our media player. On the Nimbus808 dashboard, navigate to the “Displays” tab and download the client software. Or, you can download the windows version or linux version.

After downloading and installing, open the client software and you’ll be met with a Nimbus registration screen. From which you can either jot down the pairing code, or scan the QR code to start registering your display to your Nimbus808 account.
Step 2: Register Your Media Player as a Display

Once youโre in your Nimbus808, navigate to the โDisplaysโ tab in your dashboard and register a new display player.

Enter the pairing code from your front-end client, name your display, and click approve to finish registering your PC as a display.
Step 3: Publish Your Content

Before publishing your content, youโll want to make sure that your designโs target resolution is the same as your displayโs ending resolution.
From here, you have various ways to publish your content to your display.

Another way is to publish your content directly from the design editor using the โAssign to Displaysโ button.

One way to publish your content is to navigate to the configuration page of the device, and click the โselect contentโ button.
You can also choose which display shows which playlist or design from this device configuration page.
Step 4: Configuring Your Media Player
Once you have your Media player and client software paired and displaying content, you can bring all of your displays to the front (blocking out anything else on the PC) by going into “Kiosk Mode” by pressing “CTRL + ALT + T”

You can also press “CTRL + ALT + N” to bring up the config window in your display player. This allows you to tweak particular settings on your display.
Conclusion
From here, your content from Nimbus 808 should be displaying on your media player!
