Project Security

With built-in security features, Nimbus808 offers administrators the assurance that access to the projects and dashboards is secure.

Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor Authentication is a security process that requires a user to provide at least two forms of verification to gain access. In Nimbus808 all users will have a user name and password. In addition, users will receive a 1 time password to access the project.

User and Group Policies

Together Roles and Groups determines what access a User has within the Nimbus808 set-up environment (if any), and/or what dashboard(s) and metrics they see when they log into your specific domain URL.

Owners and Administrators can invite, edit, and delete users to and from their Nimbus808 dashboard. Each invited User is assigned a Role that determines the level of permissions they have within the dashboard. Additionally, a User may be assigned to one or more Groups.

See Users and Permissions and Groups for more information.

Whitelist IP

When enabled, an IP Whitelist displays specific IP addresses that have been grated access. If the IP address is not on the whitelist, a device and/or a user will not have access to the dashboard(s). Nimbus808 has 2 Whitelist options available in the Server settings:

Broker IP Whitelist – This feature allows the user to put IP address for devices (ex. an HMI) that they want to allow to connect to the broker. If this is enabled any device’s IP address that is not on this list will be unable to connect to the broker.

Server IP Whitelist – This feature allows the project owners and administrators to input specific IP addresses for connections to the runtime. If your IP address is not listed, you will not be able to access the runtime and will see an error screen.

See Servers for more information.
